About Me

Honoring the women who shattered ceilings and paved the way for the next generation of innovators in STEM.

Anya Kamath

Aspiring Mechanical Engineer

I am 14 years old and have much enthusiasm for continuous learning and strong commitment to academic excellence, leadership, and community service. Being a girl in STEM was always different. With STEM being a male dominated field, I never had many female role models when I chose this field to major in. I have participated in summer programs that fosters personal growth, creativity, and hands-on learning in a collaborative environment.

Besides academics,I love public speaking and have won first place as an evaluator in competitive public speaking. I am currently involved with my school's FTC team and have organized several events promoting robotics and STEM.

Going to a STEM oriented school as a mechanical engineer, there aren’t many girls in STEM and something that I have come to learn is that this is because the STEM resources aren’t available to many.

My mission is to help girls become more involved in STEM. Currently, in my FTC team I host engineering classes for students and I create and individualize lesson plans for each student.
